It is important to make an appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks prior to travelling as you may need more than one appointment. The vaccines also take at least 2 weeks to get into your system to work effectively whilst you are abroad
From the 1st July 2011 you will need to fill in a questionnaire either online or by hand and either email/post it back to us or drop in with the form to make an appointment. The forms are accessible on the internet or can be collected from the reception.
You will be given an appointment with a Practice Nurse to discuss your travel plans and have your vaccinations and/or malarial treatment.
We provide a travel immunisation service for all our patients that are registered at Bath Row Medical Practice (BRMP)
We offer most vaccinations on the NHS and are free of charge however they are sometimes some vaccines that we charge for e.g.Yellow Fever.
Some malaria medications are able to be purchased over the counter (OTC) at pharmacy your practice nurse will let you know if you can do this. Other malaria medication all pharmacies require a private prescription issued by the Practice Nurse. If you need a private prescription you will be charged £16 for this private prescription for your medication.
We offer verbal and written travel advice to ensure that you have a safe holiday whether your holiday includes backpacking, voluntary work, beach holiday, travelling around, cruise etc.
